Planning, Installation and Aftercare

 

KM Renewable Energy offer an end-to-end solution to your renewable energy and insulation needs but we are equally at home supporting any element of your energy project and working closely with third parties.

 

The process starts with the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) survey, which is a key requirement for most funding and incentive schemes.  We will advise of any necessary work to improve the heat efficiency of your property and determine the cost, benefit and funding options available to you.

 

Energy Performance Certificate EPC

 

An Energy Performance Certificates EPC is the Government's chosen way of complying with the Energy Performance Building Directive EPBD. Its purpose is to record how energy efficient a property is. The certificate will provide a rating of the energy efficiency and CO2 emissions of a building from A to G, where A is very efficient and G is very inefficient.

 

EPCs are produced using standard methods with standard assumptions about energy usage so that the energy efficiency of one building can easily be compared with another building of the same type.

 

This allows prospective owners and occupiers to see information on the energy efficiency and CO2 emissions for any property.  Equipped with this information you can consider energy efficiency and fuel costs as part of the investment.

 

An EPC is always accompanied by a recommendation report that lists cost effective and other measures, such as low and zero carbon generating systems, to improve the energy rating of the building. The certificate is also accompanied by information about the rating that could be achieved if all the recommendations were implemented.

 

Once any remedial work has been completed we can advise you on suitable renewable technologies to suit your specific requirements and then carry out a manufacturer backed site survey to establish the safest and most efficient way to implement the technology whilst minimising disruption to you.

 

Site Surveys

 

Once you have placed your initial order we will always conduct a full site survey to assess the suitability of the technology you have chosen and the safest and most efficient way of carrying out the installation.

 

Site surveys will be arranged at a time that is convenient to you and typically take up to an hour for standard domestic installations and longer for commercial properties.

 

Depending on the circumstances, the survey may be carried out by our own senior energy technology surveyors, by a representative of the technology manufacturer or a combination.

 

All elements of the installation will be discussed with you prior to your sign-off and the placing of your order.  A full written report will be sent to you detailing our survey findings and all the technical and financial implications.  We will not normally place your order until you have received, read and fully understood all the implications.  We also give you a 7 day cooling off period where yo can change your mind for any reason and your order will be canceled.

 

Our surveyors are all manufacturer trained and fully experienced.  They will be able to answer any questions you may have and explain in simple terms how the technology works and what the likely benefits are going to be. questions.

 

Once your order has been processed we will help you with any applications you need to make for funding and incentives.  We will then place the necessary orders with the manufacturers and issue you with a delivery date and an installation schedule.

 

Delivery

 

Depending on the technology  and products ordered you may have one or more scheduled deliveries.  In some cases these may arrive by courier but in the majority of cases it will be the manufacturer's delivery network that will make the delivery.

 

We will normally ensure that we have personnel on site to take delivery for you.  If we cannot do this for any reason, we will make arrangements with the manufacturer to ensure delivery is completed safely and in accordance with your specific requirements.

 

In many cases it is possible for us to give you a 2 hour window in which delivery will take place and, if we have your mobile number, to send you updates by SMS.

 

Site Installation

 

KM Renewable Energy’s installers are experienced in all aspects of renewable energy and insulation technologies.  Whether installing, commissioning, servicing or trouble shooting we ensure that our installations are of the highest quality and maintained to give a long and trouble free life.

 

KM Renewable Energy can quote for differing services according to your needs and location, including:

 

  • turnkey solution with KM Renewable Energy installers working on the job from start-to-finish
  • working with our network of local plumbers or your own plumbers
  • supporting self-installers

 

For MCS installations KM Renewable Energy have to have been involved from the beginning through to commissioning the system.  This includes sizing, recommending the system installed, ensuring that the installation meets with MCS criteria, wiring and formal commissioning.

 

On completion the work will be inspected by a senior surveyor and copies of the job cards and test certificates given to you.  Copies of all documentation will also be emailed to you.

 

Guarantees

 

All work is guaranteed for at least 12 months against faulty product or workmanship.  In the unlikely event of you having a problem we provide you with a dedicated contact number and email address for reporting issues and allocate a dedicated person as a single point of contact to manage the rework to completion and liaise with the manufacturer on your behalf when needed.

 

Monitoring and Maintenance - Service Contracts

 

In order to qualify for some incentives you need to take out a monitoring and maintenance contract for the life of the incentive and we can offer a range of affordable service plans that meet RHI and Green Deal requirements.

 

KM Renewable Energy’s installation team offer high quality after care for your renewable energy systems.

 

Aftercare can include:

 

  • remote monitoring
  • telephone support
  • routine servicing
  • trouble shooting
  • fixing any problems that arise.
